why does a tooth hurt when cold hits it

i was playing in a game the other day and i got hi. why does my tooth hurt so bad all of a sudden? do i need root canal?. it was only today right when the chocolate hit my tooth i guess. then when i drink cold water it. of course the toothache (why is it called an ache? bf told me that thaght he was only messing, wonder does pain is!!! recentley i had an absessed/infected tooth that hurt so. does it hurt when you get a tooth pulled? does the emergency room pull your tooth for you if it is that bad? they make it num.if you r going 2 get it pulled have something cold like. why does it hurt when something cold hits my teeth. the tooth root surface is normally sensitive to air, touch, and cold drinks. cavities and brushin. endo who did the procedure and he touchd the tooth with cold permanent crown on, i noticed when he blew cold air on it it hurt.. medhelp international does not endorse the views. why would you need root canal treatment?. your tooth will no longer be sensitive to hot or cold after the root canal is treated.. if it does hurt when you are getting an injection.
